Portable and Innovative Baby Monitoring Solution

The Oxxo Baby Monitor is a set that includes a main monitor part with a camera and a base. The main monitor part is designed to be easily picked up and carried by babysitters or parents, allowing them to keep an eye on their baby while on the move. The wide angle of view provided by the camera enables parents to check most of the room where the baby is, ensuring that they never miss a moment.

What sets the Oxxo Baby Monitor apart is its base part, which is recommended to be placed in the baby's room. The base measures the physical qualities of the room, such as humidity, temperature, and the level of oxygen, providing parents with valuable information about their baby's environment. Additionally, the base part also serves as a charging station for the monitor, ensuring that it is always ready for use.

The Oxxo Baby Monitor is made using plastic injection molding technology, ensuring durability and precision in its construction. The camera on the main monitor part features two servos, allowing for a wide angle of view. The monitor connects to a mobile phone via Wi-Fi, providing parents with instant access to their baby's monitoring feed.

Operating the Oxxo Baby Monitor is simple and intuitive. The monitor works in coordination with a mobile phone application, which allows parents to switch between different modes depending on their needs. When leaving the baby with a babysitter, parents can switch the application to "Babysitter" mode, enabling optional information on the baby or room conditions to be sent to them. Parents can also view their baby at any time by connecting to the monitor. After taking back the baby, parents can switch the application to "With me" mode or "Alone" mode if they leave the baby alone in the room. In "Alone" mode, all notifications are active to keep parents informed.

The Oxxo Baby Monitor was designed by Levent Muslular and the Prods Design Team in Ankara. The project aimed to address the concerns of working parents who want to stay connected with their babies even when they are not physically present. Extensive research was conducted to understand the needs and anxieties of parents in such situations.

The main challenge in designing the Oxxo Baby Monitor was optimizing the diameter of the monitor section to ensure it could be easily held by both men and women. The final design achieved a balance between portability and functionality, providing parents with a reliable and convenient baby monitoring solution.

The Oxxo Baby Monitor has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Baby, Kids, and Children's Products Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.
